Virginia's entry into America the Beautiful Quarters program will be Shenandoah National Park, located a scant 75 miles from our Nation's capital.

SHENANDOAH NATIONAL PARK OVERVIEW

Nearly all parks offer sightseeing. Many offer fishing, hiking and birdwatching. But how many national parks can be enjoyed from the comfort and mechanical security of your car?

Shenandoah can. The park's best-known attraction is the Skyline Drive, a road that runs the entire 105 mile length of the park. In the fall, when the leaves are changing colors and floating towards the ground, the Drive is a rare blend of the modern and the ancient, the timeless and the ephemeral.
