In 2015, Bombay Hook National Wildlife will be depicted on the coin representing Delaware in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program.

BOMBAY HOOK NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE OVERVIEW

Tidal salt marsh accounts for most of this almost 16,000 acre refuge, a critical breeding ground for migrating birds and other wildlife. From Great Blue Herons and Wood Ducks to Bald Eagles and Egrets, it is migratory birds that most visitors flock to see. With auto routes, observation towers and nature trails, visitors can experience this near-pristine ecosystem less than ten feet above sea level.

Perhaps the most spectacular and patriotic of the endandgered birds protected in the park is the bald eagle, though more than 300 other species make their home there.
