Louisiana's only national forest is also the site honored as the state's entry in the America the Beautiful Quarters program.

KISATCHIE NATIONAL FOREST OVERVIEW

If you're the "outdoorsy" type, Kisatchie is the national forest for you. The park offers a bevy of recreational activities, including ATV use, backpacking, boating, camping, cycling, fishing, hunting, mountain biking and horseback riding, making it perfect for active types that love to dive into nature.

If you're less adventurous, you can still enjoy the wonderful foliage and rare animals, including the Red-cockaded Woodpecker.
