It started as a "military experiment" to train America's first African-American military pilots. These Tuskegee Airmen overcame segregation and prejudice to become one of the most highly respected fighter groups of World War II. This historic site celebrates the lives of the pilots, navigators, bombardiers, instructors and all the personnel who kept the planes in the air.
