For many, coin collecting is a way to bring families together. It serves as a way to inspire and educate children about our history and national heritage. These coins become treasured family keepsakes, to be passed down from generation to generation.

This is the "pocket change" found in circulation with the billions of legal tender coins that are minted each year.

In 1999, the United States Mint 50 State Quarters® Program was launched. This 10-year initiative honored each of the nation’s states in the order they joined the Union. The program helped to rejuvenate coin collecting in America over the past decade.

Now, the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program continues this rich tradition. Each coin in the series tells a unique story, from its design to when the site became part of our nation’s history. They serve as beautiful tools that can educate children about important parks and other national sites across the fifty states, Washington D.C. and five U.S. territories.
