The Susan B. Anthony Dollar was the first time that a woman appeared on a U.S. circulating coin. The coin replaced the Eisenhower Dollar and was minted from 1979-1981 and again in 1999. It honored women’s suffrage leader, Susan B. Anthony.

The reverse (tails) shows an American eagle landing on the Moon, an adaptation of the Apollo 11 insignia used on the Eisenhower Dollar.
